KPCB Invests US$10M into GAMEFE Tech

Kleiner Perkins Caufield & Byers (KPCB) announced it invested US$10M into the Beijing GAMFE Tech Co. Ltd. (GAMFE Tech) in March 2008. GAMFE Tech has become China's first enterprise in the Digital Entertainment Professional Education sector garnering investment from an international VC firm.

GAMFE Tech is one high tech enterprise in the Chinese Digital Entertainment Professional Education business, focusing on the professional training, degree education and product research and development. Currently, the main programs introduced by the company include the game college program, the film college program, and digital film and video college program.

The investment from KPCB will be used to develop new courses, explore new markets, and build teachers team, according to Mr. Xinke Li, GAMFE Tech Chairman. GAMFE Tech will also explore more new teaching models.

"KPCB is optimistic about the development of GAMFE Tech, whose management has much experience and expertise in the Digital Entertainment Education business. More importantly, the team is of high quality," said Tina Ju, managing partner with KPCB.
